May-August 2005 Ebay Auctions

Purple Pandemonium
SOLD

6/8/05

Hello! The set has been in the making for a while. I continue my romance with "Evil Devitrifying Purple" or EDP, and this time I was able to coax some beautiful orchid tones out of it! I was so excited, I made rather a lot of them... plenty for several bracelets, or one lavish necklace! The "squeezed" shape is so smooth and soothing against the skin... it's a real delight to wear. You just might have as much fun wearing them as I did making them. Well... maybe not.*grin*

Enjoy, and don't forget to check my other auctions!

Cherry Grove
STILL AVAILABLE
6/8/05

I was going to call this Cherry Fizz, but there's a Peach Fizz up elsewhere this week and that didn't feel like the right thing... so I chose Cherry Grove. I hail from the Cherry Capital of the World... Traverse City, Michigan, where my family still lives (Hi Mom and Dad!), so there was no doubt that the soft pinks and greens of these set reminded me of the cherry trees that bloom in the spring! For those who are interested, this is my first set using Gaffer glass, but it won't be the last... you can get both more subtle and more vibrant hues from it! These "squeezed" beads have a texture on one side, and the side that's meant to go next to the skin is silky smooth. You could use these all together or break them into two smaller sets. It was very tough to capture in the photos, but the darker ones have silver in it that peaks out, and the green is MUCH softer in tone than I could get (I sure tried, though). These are more subdued colors than I often work with.. calming, don't you think?

Enjoy, and don't forget to check my other auctions!

Simple Pleasures
SOLD

6/1/05

Hello! I hope everyone is doing well this week. One evening I really wanted to light up my torch, and when I did, I wasn't quite sure what I was going to do. So I decided to pick one of my favorite color combinations and start out with someone simple. Well, as I started working, I got in this almost zen-like state and that sort of peaceful state of mind, I created this set. Aren't they cheery? Things in life don't necessarily have to be complicated to be satisfying.

Enjoy, and don't forget to check my other auctions!

April Showers
SOLD
6/1/05

I sat down to combine some favorite colors in new ways... using opal yellow, and a light brown with shades of purple. When I finished, I thought the set looked like a warmly lit room on a rainy day (which we have been having a LOT of in the Northeast). And since April Showers bring may flowers, I added some flowers. I'm not quite sure whether these colors are "in", but I think these would look very elegant with the right outfit! Enjoy, and don't forget to check my other auctions.

Arabian Nights
SOLD

5/25/05

Ah, Arabian nights filled with glistening moolight and rich fabrics and lucious surroundings! Something about this set evokes the the soft, summer, silken night to me. Mmmm, I already want to make more in this color combination. The beads are fairly dramatically graduated... I wasn't going to put in the focal bead, but I thought that it could be used either with the set of on it's own, so I include it. Enjoy, and don't forget to check my other auctions!

Squeezed Jewels
SOLD
5/25/05

Well, I admit it... after I tried on my new press, I kept going back to this set and wrapping it around my wrist and admiring it. I *love* the way these beads feel against the skin... they would be so great in a bracelet! The colors... as the name implies... are jewel tones with a bit of emerald green thrown in. The depth doesn't quite get captured in the photo... they are mesmerizing in person (at least to me!). Watch the beads... touch the beads... buy the beads. *grin* There are definitely more squeezed beads in my future. Enjoy, and don't forget to check my other auctions!

Wicked!
SOLD

5/18/05

Oh my... this set has so many firsts for me... the first set that I did after taking a class with Corina... the smallest beads I have made to date... the most layering of color... and more! This set was inspired by a fantastic trip that my boyfriend and I took down to New York City to see the musical "Wicked." Every since I purchased the CD, I have been in love with the music. It's a show about the little green girl who grows up to become the Wicked Witch of the West and it answers many questions that the familiar Wizard of Oz leaves out (How did she become green? Why were the munchkins so happy when her sister died?). The show was funny, sad, heartwarming... and even though I knew the music well, there were some unexpected plot twists that had us gasping. It was a magical weekend that I will never forget. And so in tribute, I created this set of beads in every shade of green that I have and black for poor, misunderstood Elphaba, with a little dichro and gold thrown in for some Broadway glitz! Enjoy, and don't forget to check my other auctions!

Purple Ice
SOLD

5/18/05

I am so taken with this style of bead! I want to make myself a necklace... something about the thick encasing and the way it slightly indents on each side make the beads particularly sparkly and eye-catching. There are chunky beads, and for me, that's part of the appeal. I hope you like them as much as I do. Enjoy, and don't forget to check my other auctions!

At the Races
SOLD
5/18/05

Hello... with the running of the Kentucky Derby recently, I got to thinking about classic color combinations, and this is one of my favorites! Creamy ivory and navy. I can see this set dressed up for office wear, or dressed down for jeans. Yum! Enjoy, and don't forget to check my other auctions!

Summer Dreamin'
SOLD
5/18/05

During some open torch time at a class I recently took, I grabbed this glass from the "scrap" bin... I thought it was incredibly beautiful and ethereal, and created this matched pair that would make some lovely earrings! It reminds me of a soft summer day. Mmm.... don't you just love to lay in the grass and watch clouds roll by? Enjoy, and don't forget to check my other auctions!

Solar Flare
SOLD

5/11/05

When I got this odd lot of orange glass, I really fell in love with it. I noodled around with different color combinations, and I love this one!! A bold statement for your pieces, these would probably work best in a necklace, because of their size. Enjoy, and don't forget to check my other auctions!

5/18: STILL AVAILABLE

Violet Vortex
5/11/05

Hello! I've been playing around with this frit, and I found this color combination and just loved it! The colors are really deep jewel tones, but it's still a very spring-y set. Boy oh boy did I have a hard time coming up with a name for these. Enjoy, and don't forget to check my other auctions!

Quilted Lavendar
SOLD

5/11/05

Hello! Well, I'm beginning my obsession with what we lampworkers call "Evil Devitrifying Purple" or EDP. This glass is so interesting to work with, and it can be frustrating too. This set has a LOT of color variation in the purple, and I liked it. I also didn't melt these completely round again, so there's just a touch of texture to the beads. Enjoy, and don't forget to check my other auctions!

Midnight Inspiration
SOLD

5/4/05

Hello! It's been a while since I've been here with some beads! I've been busy with a show and some terrific classes, but I'm back! After a class, I was sitting at the torch looking for inspiration... and it struck! My friend Stephanie had made a gorgeous vessel in class, and I thought I would borrow this great color combination and do something else entirely with it. These flat tabs are a dream to wear and would be particularly nice in a bracelet. Enjoy, and don't forget to check my other auctions!

Japanese Blossoms 2
SOLD

5/4/05

Hello! I decided to do the Japanese Blossom set again, but with a slight variation... the base color of class is slightly different, which makes the blue look even richer! I think with the cherry trees blooming everywhere that I just have pink flowers on my mind. Enjoy, and don't forget to check my other auctions!

Painted Desert
SOLD

5/4/05

Hello! I was playing around with colors and came up with the combination that I loved... it reminds me of the painted desert in the southwest! All the beads are encased to make them sparkle just that extra bit. Enjoy, and don't forget to check my other auctions!
